I was very, very happy to discover the other day that Pfeffer is continuing the series with This World We Live In
Here's the official summary:
"It's been a year since a meteor collided with the moon, catastrophically altering the earth’s climate. For Miranda Evans life as she knew it no longer exists. Her friends and neighbors are dead, the landscape is frozen, and food is increasingly scarce.
The struggle to survive intensifies when Miranda’s father and stepmother arrive with a baby and three strangers in tow. One of the newcomers is Alex Morales, and as Miranda’s complicated feelings for him turn to love, his plans for his future thwart their relationship. Then a devastating tornado hits the town of Howell, and Miranda makes a decision that will change their lives forever."
I can't wait for this one, and am seriously envying those with advance copies! It will be released on April 1st, and I swear that date can't come soon enough! In the mean time, I will be rereading the first two.
Have you read this series yet? What did you think? If you haven't picked up Life As We Knew It, I definitely urge you to do so!
Edited to add: If you'd like to read my review of This World We Live In, click here. I was really, really disappointed with the conclusion of this trilogy. For those of you who read it, what do you think?
UPDATE AS OF 6-5-13! There is a fourth book in the series! It's called The Shade of the Moon, and it will be out on August 13th, 2013! Here is the summary:
"The eagerly awaited addition to the series begun with the New York Times best-seller Life As We Knew It, in which a meteor knocks the moon off its orbit and the world changes forever. It's been more than two years since Jon Evans and his family left Pennsylvania, hoping to find a safe place to live, yet Jon remains haunted by the deaths of those he loved. His prowess on a soccer field has guaranteed him a home in a well-protected enclave. But Jon is painfully aware that a missed goal, a careless word, even falling in love, can put his life and the lives of his mother, his sister Miranda, and her husband, Alex, in jeopardy. Can Jon risk doing what is right in a world gone so terribly wrong?"

I've read both of them, and now that a new one is coming out, I'm even MORE excited to see what's coming. the first two were fantastic, and so realistic. I hope now that because she falls in love, it isn't too cliche.
I haven't read any of this series, but they all sound fab!!!
If you sign up at netgalley.com, you can get an e-version of the new book to read in advance.
I can't wait to read these! Thanks for letting us know.
I loved Life as We Knew It and was lucky enough to get an ARC of This World We Live In, so I need to get caught up by reading The Dead and The Gone soon :)

yay I am so excited! I'm gonna read this in a day and then give it to my little sister. she loves the series too
I loved Life as We Knew It. It's out there, but yet so real...made me want to get a wood stove!
After I read The Dead and the Gone, I bought about forty jars of peanut butter to keep in the basement. Didn't stock up on alcohol, though-- didn't want people to talk.Really looking forward to the third book, and since we're almost out of peanut butter, I guess I can read it!
I read Life As We Knew It last year and it was incredible -- easily one of the most terrifying, moving, effective books I've ever read. Because it totally wrecked me and messed with my head for so long, though, I haven't picked up the second book in the series yet! I definitely will, though... just need some more time to calm down, haha :)
I loved Life As We Knew It and was ecstatic to find out that it was part of a series.

Work from home India
I've read all three books and found them totally captivating. I hope there will be yet more in this series.
All of the parts are fantastic but the last part "The world we live in is very sad when Juile gets pills from Miranda :(
These books are amazing! I have become obsessed with them. I have only read the first two but I can't wait to read the third!
OMG i first read This World We Live In, and soon found out there is a part 1 and 2, i went back to the library to check them out and one word...
FANTASTIC<3
I think the first book is amazing, but I don't think I will be able to read the rest of them. It just makes me so depressed, I don't think I could handle it. The idea is great, though. Great work.
Which book is first im not sure
Life as We Know It, The Dead and the Gone, This World We Live In.
I loved the series, very good and detailed. However the violence is very toned down.
***SPOILER***I just wish there was more to it. So much time was spent in that house and I wish that when they finally left she would have told us more about their adventure. I was really hoping that by the time the books were done she would have told us what the scientists came up with to fix the problem. Still, a very interesting read!!
I love this series. Please, please make a movie. I am a 41 year old mother of 2 and i found this series through my daughter. I was so desperate for something to read I started reading my daughter's book and could not put it down. I just finished reading Life As We Knew It for the second time.
