Cover Talk: New PC Cover for Magic Under Glass

You may remember the debate about the cover for the January release, Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore. Basically, the model's skin tone wasn't dark enough for readers, so Bloomsbury stopped printing the book until a new cover could be made. Personally, I liked the original cover, and you can read my defense of it here, but I am also loving the new cover. So, check it out:

Very pretty, right? It doesn't quite have the magical air about it that the original goes, but I love the font and the angle that the picture is taken from! And the key! It's a beautiful cover.

What are your thoughts? And which do you prefer?

I find both of them gorgeous and wouldn't mind owning either one. Actually, I would want to have them both if I could. :)

Personally I prefer the old one. The new cover is OK but the old one looks more magical!

I prefer the old one too. I agree that the new one doesn't give that magical feel to it. If they could put the dark-skinned girl on the first cover it would be perfect.

Ethically speaking, I like the new one more. But I made sure to go out and buy the old cover, because it's just so gosh darn PRETTY. You know? I'll probably buy the new one too...when it comes out in paperback. *grin*
