Mockingjay Reminder

Hey everyone,

I'm just as excited as anyone to learn how the Hunger Games trilogy concludes, and I know everyone wishes August 24th were tomorrow, but I just wanted to re-post a statement Suzanne Collins released last week:

"One of the most important things to me is that everyone in the world is going to be able to experience the final book of The Hunger Games all at the same time, and be able to discover what happens in the book without hearing about it elsewhere first. Word will certainly travel fast, but I urge you – before or immediately after August 24th – to please respect the other Hunger Games fans worldwide and avoid sharing any spoilers, so that the conclusion of Katniss’s story can unfold for each reader the way it was meant to unfold."

Knowing Suzanne and the rest of the books, I'm certain she's going to shock us all! And while I tend not to be a violent person, I know that if someone spoiled it for me, I'd want to strangle that person (the YouTube video of the kid yelling out the big spoiler at the end of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to a crowd of fans waiting for their copies of the book has haunted me for years).

So, keep your lips shut, and if you must, must, must talk about a spoiler online after the book comes out, for goodness sake (and your own), give us all spoiler warnings!

Oooh, I agree. Thanks for posting this. I was actually thinking it might be nice to have a designated spoiler "safe spot" area for those who finish and need a place to discuss--but don't want to risk ruining it for anyone else. Maybe I'll designate a post on my blog to host that kind of discussion, on and after 8-24. Because the last thing anyone wants is a free-for-all blab-fest in front of everyone's eyes.

This does feel like that last book of the Harry Potter series. i remember that day - waiting for the UPS man to deliver my read. I had pre-ordered because I thought I was going to be out of town.

I waited until 10 am mad at myself for not getting to Wal-Mart at midnight and grabbing a copy.... and then finally... I looked inside the front door and there it was waiting for me..... BLISS.

I may have to take the day off from work.... :D

Sorry that happened to the Harry Potter fans--usually people are courteous enough to not "let the cat out of the bag", but warning about spoilers in a post and then leaving space so that no one accidentally sees them would be handy and appreciated...can't wait for Mockingjay myself...

I can't wait for it to come out!!!
I wish it was comming out tommorrow :)

I don't really mind spoilers. If people tell you one one sentance of whats going to happen it dosn't ruin the hundreds of pages before that for me or the end for that matter.

Thats a cool idea :)

I've received my copy this morning in the mail. I can't wait to read it lol.

I still think it's hilarious that the girl in my local bookstore had no idea about The Hunger Games!
