Oh, Mockingjay! It's release is so close upon us! Welcome to District 9 of the official Mockingjay 13 District Blog Tour!
I could talk a bit about 9, but I'd rather gush about about one of my favorite characters in The Hunger Games trilogy--Cinna, Katniss's stylist. He is undeniably fabulous and smart, and his fashion sense is not only striking, but has fed the flames of the rebellion. In The Hunger Games, he made everyone notice Katniss by transforming her into the girl who was on fire, and his surprise wedding dress creation in Catching Fire stunned and impressed everyone--and made her even more sensational than before!
Not only is Cinna brilliant with the costumes, but he's smart and level-headed, which makes him one of the few people Katniss genuinely likes and trusts. This is why in Catching Fire, right before Katniss is about to enter the arena, she witnesses him being dragged away and beaten by the Capitol, and Collins leaves us wondering about his fate. Despite that, I have high hopes for Cinna in Mockingjay, and I am looking forward to more kick-butt designs by him, because no Hunger Games book would be complete without one. Never underestimate the power of fashion and appearances, especially when starting a rebellion!
And though Cinna's designs tend to be more eye-catching, I'm sure he would approve of today's prize, a black track jacket with the Mockingjay embroidered on the back. And, if you are the winner of this fabulous jacket, your name will also be embroidered on the front! Fabulous!
To enter to win the jacket, be sure and fill out the form at the bottom of the post!
And if you want to read more things Hunger Games, be sure to check out the official Facebook page, and swing by the District 10 stop at Presenting Lenore on Monday!

Great post District 9!!!
When/how will we learn the winnter?
Thanks for being part of the tour. This jacket is awesome.
What a lovely post! I think Cinna was one of the few characters I truly liked as in please-be-my-bestie from HG. (Me is not HG fan girl) but I loved you post, and I too hope he's okay. :D
I'm planning on devoting a whole post to Cinna next week. I love him! I linked your contest in my Mockingjay Madness post. You can find it here: http://derapsreads.blogspot.com/2010/08/mockingjay-madness.html
Thanks!
Awesome giveaway! I added your contest to my Mockingjay Madness post, which you can find at: http://derapsreads.blogspot.com/2010/08/mockingjay-madness.html
I love Cinna too. I cannot help thinking we will find out he has a far deeper role in the rebellion. He has been a fab friend and father figure for Katniss too. Also, love his assistants Venia and Octavia just for comic relief.
i dont know if its just me, but i can't get to the form. any help please?
YAY for Cinna! i do love the fashions created and presented with such drama ;-D
Wow, awesome giveaway! I also love Cinna. I'm hoping he'll play a larger role in the rebellion in Mockingjay.
I liked the wedding dress that changed to the mockingjay. It was Cinna's way of showing he was for the rebellion, while also fueling it and encouraging others that the cause for freedom was not lost. After that, the tributes expressed what they felt for the rebellion by all joining hands. That was a major turning point for all the people in the districts, to see that the tributes were willing to join together, if even for a single moment. At the end of Catching Fire, Gale tells Katniss 'there is no District 12.' I believe if none of the above events had happened, 12, along with some of the other Districts would not have rebelled. Cinna's mockingjay dress was a complete success.
Anonymous, the contest will go until September 1st, and I'll notify the winner via email.
Taylor, if you're having trouble accessing it, try using another internet browser.
So what if we don't want our name on the front, but maybe a nickname? Amazing jacket, though. =D
We can do that! If you're the winner, I contact you to confirm your name first.
Love the tour! Having a fantastic time! :)
I linked your contest to my blog:

Thanks again!!
Why don't I live in the US? :( :( I hate, hate, hate living in Denmark!
I adore Cinna - I want him to be my personal dresser too (only without the whole "maybe he's dead" thing.)
Sadly, I think Cinna is a goner. In Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, there is a Cinna that is murdered for being a conspirator. I have a feeling Ms. Collins is hinting at something there. :'(
Sadly, I agree with Jenna. Cinna is either dead or being transformed into an Avox at this point. :(
i think jenna's right, authors generally name characters too fit their personality/something-that-happens-to-them. ie- Peeta is the baker's son, there is a bread called peeta bread haha
i like Cinna and she is very creative!!! team Peeta
where did my post go?
I LOVE Cinna and would trust him too. I loved his "girl on fire" creation and hope he survives and is a big part of Mockingjay.
Thanks for the focus on Cinna in this post. I love his character so much and I hope we find out what happens to him in Mockingjay! Thank for the contest, too! :D
Thank you for the amazing contest! I adore Cinna and I hope he is well in Mockingjay!
Yes! Cinna! I really want to see him involved in the rebellion in Mockinjay- even as an avox. Or at the very least, maybe his death will serve to focus Katniss on her duties as a leader of the uprising.
I sure hope we get to see Cinna too in Mockingjay!
great post!! love this giveaway it's amazing!
Cinna is so easy to like because he actually cares. Unlike most of the people in the Capital, Cinna knows what's going on in the districts and understands where Katniss is coming from. I hope he's still alive in Mockingjay, but I agree with many other people in thinking he may bite the dust.
Great contest thank you so much!
Cinna is my favorite. And I can't spoil anything so I'll just say that I just about cried when they beat him before the Quarter Quell. I love how his outfits are so well linked to the revolution and he's not trying to be a designer but an instigator. (My spelling is probably horrible)
Why did they have to Kill Cinna. He was so nice to Katnis. The book was still amazing.
I've read all the books and have to say that it is the best book series I've ever read. I love Cinna's creativity and all his creations are amazing (at least the way I picture them). Everyone's opinion on what it looks like is different.
Mockingjay was a brilliant conclusion to the trilogy. I can only compare it to "Ender's Game" - and that is extremely high praise, indeed.
When I first closed the book last night, I felt shattered, empty, and drained. This book is my favorite of the series, hands-down.
