Cover Talk: Oh My God, I'm DYING!

Covers, covers, covers! I could talk nearly as much about them as I can the books themselves! And today seems to be the day for amazing cover discoveries! Four huge authors, all of whom I adore, have some pretty awesome looking covers for their new releases next year, and light colors and a view from behind seem to be a big theme. First up, Susane Colasanti!

So Much Closer comes out next May, and I've always loved a new Susane Colasanti cover reveal because despite the differences in the settings, stories, and people, they've always had one thing in common: a girl and a guy on either side of the cover. While this isn't my favorite of hers, I definitely love it! The city in the background, the windswept look of the couple, the closeness--not too close, but just so! Fantastic! I don't think I can wait until May for this book!

Okay, so who ISN'T excited for Sarah Dessen's new novel, What Happened to Goodbye? I am loving the yellow suitcase (it's a great pop of color) and it seems to fit right in with what I've heard about this book. I love how Dessen's covers are light and modern looking, and unlike the cover for Just Listen, I don't think this one will appear too dated for many years to come. So, mark your calendars, everyone: May 10th, 2011 that happy new Sarah Dessen book day!

Oh, Deb Caletti! Ever since I read The Secret Life of Prince Charming and The Six Rules of Maybe, I have become a big, big fan, and Stay looks so good! First of all, I love the title treatment--very neat! But I really like the light glinting off the water and how the girl is looking down at it the best. Plus, I totally wish I had her outfit. This one is out April 5th, 2011.

I am currently trying to count how many ways I can say "I ADORE JENNY HAN"... J'adore, Me encanta... Basically, her Summer trilogy is so, so, so good, it's making me want weep and beg you to read it right now. I am so sad it's coming to an end with We'll Always Have Summer (plus, that title sounds a little negative! This makes me sad! I want rainbows and beach houses and eternal summers full of happiness for Belly and Beck's boys!), but I am also super excited to read it. The covers are so classic and pretty, and this one certainly is not a let-down! I am loving the green grass and the white dress. I can't wait! May 3rd, 2011 is too far away!

Soooo...what do you all think? Aren't these light colors making you wish for summer (even though I am totally ready for scarves and sweaters and the holidays)?

(Also, what's up with all of the back views? Is this the new headless?)

Yes, you're right...those covers are definitely making me think of summer! Oh...if only summer could stay just a little longer. At least we have something to look forward to next year! My to-read pile has just gotten a little larger, I think.

Haha I'm the same with covers. Sometimes I love them more than the book itself. I literally squealed when I saw the cover for What Happened to Goodbye. And I could stare at We'll Always Have Summer all day. It's gorgeous.

So many covers so little time!!

I've been meaning to red the Summer trilogy, but I'm waiting for it to be done - I'm not very patient when it comes to series - I've heard so many good things about them.

:D

There's not a single book on this list I wouldn't read, but I am specially looking forward to reading "We'll always have Summer". I love the series and can't wait to read its conclusion.

OMG! I can't believe the cover for the final Jenny Han book has been published. It's gorgeous!! But you're right, the title is a bit sad. I hope it ends in a good way.
