Cover Talk: Simone Elkeles Turns Up the Heat

Simone Elkeles really caught my attention about two years ago with her unforgettable and searing book, Perfect Chemistry. It is an edgy, romantic, and completely engrossing book about what happens when bay-boy and gang member Alex Fuentes falls for the golden, and before you stop reading this blog post, I know what you're thinking. One of those books. Yeah, one of those, except it's not one of those books--it's way better. I am the first to shy away from books I think are heavy on clichés, but Perfect Chemistry taught me that sometimes clichés are very, very, very good. So, you need to pick up Perfect Chemistry, trust me. Read my review here.

A few months after I read it, I found out that it was only the first in a trilogy, with each book about each Fuentes brother--happy day! Rules of Attraction came out earlier this year, and I think I liked it even more than Perfect Chemistry--read my review here.

I'm not sure how I missed out on the cover and title reveal of el tercer libro...but, here is Chain Reaction, and oh my word, if the cover is any indication, Simone Elkeles is turning up the heat!

Yes, please.

Here's what it's all about:
"Luis Fuentes is a good boy who doesn't live with the angst that his big brothers, Alex and Carlos, have always lived with. Luis is smart, funny, and has big dreams of becoming an astronaut. But when he falls for the wrong girl, Luis enters a dark world he's never known, and just when he thinks he's got life all figured out, learns some disturbing news about his family that destroys his positive outlook on life. Will that Fuentes bad boy streak come out with a vengeance and lure Luis to live on the edge like his new girlfriend and his own father?
Continuing all the steamy romance of the first two books, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Simone Elkeles gives fans one more satisfying taste of the irresistible Fuentes boys."
I. Can't. Wait.

Sadly, this one won't be hitting shelves until May 24th, 2011. But, that does give you plenty of time to brush up on (and crush on) the elder two Fuentes brothers...Perfect Chemistry is on sale for only $5.25! That's a very inexpensive and very excellent Christmas gift--for you or a friend!

What do you all think of the cover? How about the series--are you a fan?

I agree with you about this cover, it is hot! I haven't read the first two books yet; I'm waiting until #3 is released (or almost) so I can enjoy them all together.

Thanks for the recommendation, I haven't checked the books yet, but I will as soon as I can. They're looking good (and the cover is great) :)
