Here's to a wonderful Mother's Day to all my readers who are moms! I hope you have a lovely day!
I don't know where I'd be without my own mother. Thank you, Mom, for beginning to read to me when I was just days old, for reading and re-reading the same picture books to me, for never saying no to a bedtime story. Thank you for taking me to the library for my own library card and then for bringing me to the library every week after that. Thank you for reading the Harry Potter books with me and loving them as much as I do, for helping me take the leap from the kids' section to the YA section at the library, and for putting Christy, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, To Kill a Mockingbird, and so many other books in my hands. Thanks for sharing in my enthusiasm for dystopias, and for reading The Hunger Games really quickly so I could read it next. Thanks for sharing your copies of The Shadow of the Wind, Remarkable Creatures, The Blind Assassin, and so many others. Thanks for always being willing to talk about the books we read.
And most of all, thank you for all of the billions of other things you do that have nothing to do with reading. I love you.
