The Star

This might not be of interest to a lot of you, but I know I have some Spanish-speaking readers out there who will appreciate this! The Star is a Spanish novel by Javi Araguz and Isabel Hierro. Currently, it's only available in Spanish and in Portuguese, but hopefully it will be translated into English! You can visit bookthestar.com to read about it and read the first chapter (in English).

What really attracted me to The Star was the awesome cover and this cool trailer (this is the English version). Check it out! If you don't speak Spanish but think this sound good, spread the word! If you do speak Spanish, check out the website to see how you can get a copy. It won some prestigious awards in Spain, and it's been pretty popular!

It looks cool. I haven't read about it, but it's a good thing that I speak Spanish at home. :)

Oh I love hearing about what books are a big hit outside of the English-speaking world! I don't speak a word of Spanish so I'll keep my fingers crossed that this one will make it to translation. Maybe if we spam Amazon Crossing?

Looks really cool! I speak some Spanish, but I feel like I'd be missing out on the awesomeness of the writing if I tried to read it in its native language :P

Is it being published in the States at all, in Spanish? Or do we have to wait for the English translation to read the whole thing?

I don't think it's been pubbed in the US, but you can get it from Book Depository (free shipping anywhere, no minimum order). I don't recommend looking it up on Amazon as the results you get are not very nice (apparently someone with the last name of Estrella write some interesting books). I don't think it'll be translated unless an English-speaking house buys it.
